How to Get Moist, Soft, Pretty Lips

Written By TT on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 | 2:56 AM

If you're like me, you have or have had chapped lips, that sometimes bleed and look not-so-pretty. Well, I found a cure! It is simple and requires no more than few dollar-store items that you may already own. These steps are great for hygiene, looks ... and KISSING! :-*

Things you’ll need:
• a couple baby wipes or washcloths
• Water!
• facial exfoliant or scrub
• soft toothbrush
• oil (baby oil, hair oil, olive oil...) or Vaseline
• Chapstick
• desired lip gloss/color

Step 1
Gently wash over your mouth/lip area with water and facial cleanser, or even just a baby wipe.
Just as when working on your face, you want a clean surface.

Step 2
Put a good-sized dab of your exfoliant /facial scrub onto your lips, and, with you mouth CLOSED please (you obviously don't want to eat this stuff), proceed to follow the same directions outlined on the back of your product to exfoliate/scrub your lips.
This helps to smooth your lips, and helps with softening.

Step 3
Rinse your lips well, if you haven't already done so in step 2, then pat dry with washcloth.
Then GENEROUSLY apply the oil product or Vaseline to your lips.
Allow it to sit/saturate your lips for a good minute or so.

Step 4
Now, take your soft-bristled toothbrush and proceed to "brush" your greaaaasy lips.
Do not brush too hard, but apply some pressure and brush well. Don't brush for more than a couple of minutes...do it only until the oil on your lips is pretty much brushed away or well into your skin.
Step 5
Take a wet washcloth or baby wipe and proceed to gently wipe excess of your lip.
Step 6
Now you should have soft lips, slightly moist. Finish off the process by applying generously your desired Chapstick or lip balm.
Step 7
If desired, you now apply your lipstick/lip gloss.
Ta-da! Beautiful, soft, moist lips!
